This event has been in our heads for a long time.

The vision was never to create another seminar. There are already plenty of great seminars out there. What we wanted to build was something a little different: a place where science and dog training don’t exist in parallel, but become part of the same conversation.

We’ll start by revisiting the biology, neuroscience, and learning principles that actually matter for the work in front of us. And then we’ll put a leash on a dog and ask the much harder—and much more interesting—question:

Now what?

That’s where the fun begins.

We’ll take concepts that are often confined to textbooks and papers and turn them into decisions you have to make in real time.

Why this approach instead of that one?
Why now and not five seconds later?
What small detail are you missing?
What is the dog actually telling you?
How do you adjust your approach without losing sight of your objective?

Because the difference between good training and exceptional training is rarely just knowing another technique. More often, it’s the ability to notice the small things before they become big things. To recognize patterns. To understand why something is working rather than simply knowing that it works. And to have enough understanding and skill to change course when the dog in front of you requires it.

That’s the skill we want to build together.

One of the things that makes this event special is that everyone attending will already have completed the Triple Helix program. That means we don’t have to spend hours introducing dopamine, fear circuits, reinforcement processes, stress physiology, cognitive flexibility, or the foundations of learning.

We already share a language and a framework.

And that allows us to start where many seminars have to stop.

We can spend our time in the nuance: working dogs, honing hands-on training skills, troubleshooting real problems, experimenting with different approaches, and connecting what we see on the end of the leash back to the science underneath it.

There will be lectures and discussion, but this is very much a hands-on clinic. We want you thinking, training, watching, asking questions, making decisions, changing those decisions, and developing a better eye for all the little variables that can completely change a training session.

And, inevitably, we’ll spend a lot of time in our favorite two words in dog training:

It depends.

That prerequisite isn’t about exclusivity for the sake of exclusivity. It’s what allows us to create the depth we’ve envisioned for this event. When everyone arrives with the same foundation, we can skip the surface and spend four days digging into the interesting stuff.

Forrest and I have a lot we’re excited to share, but we’re also genuinely looking forward to the conversations, questions, dogs, and training problems everyone will bring with them.
